MovementWorks Shortlisted in the One Dance UK 2020 Awards

Following our news item on 14th August, where we advised that we had received a nomination for the One Dance Awards UK 2020 in the category of: The Inspirational Work in Education Award, we are thrilled to share with you that we have now received the news that we have made the shortlist in our category!

The One Dance UK Awards are an annual celebration for people from across the dance sector to unite, celebrate, acknowledge and reward the people who have made an impact on the vibrant UK dance landscape. Championing the excellent work of dance artists, teachers, practitioners, educators, schools, choreographers, companies, venues, scientists, writers and producers, this event spotlights those who contribute outstanding work to the dance sector throughout the UK.

“We’re utterly delighted to have been shortlisted for the ‘Inspirational Work in Education Award’ and to be recognised along with such an impressive list of nominees in all categories ”
Ali Golding, Founder and CEO of MovementWorks.

MovementWorks was selected by an expert panel of judges from over a thousand public nominations. As per previous years, the awards are a chance for the industry to celebrate the resilience, innovation and creativity that has kept the heart of the sector beating, even in times of adversity.

Supported by Arts Council England and The National Lottery, we are currently offering an innovative online programme to all SEN and vulnerable children and adults across the country along with their neurotypical peers, to provide an inclusive range of classes for all (MovementWorks Online).

The 2020 Dance UK Awards ceremony was due to be held in Wales for the first time with a big celebration in person. However, due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s awards are changing format.
